Die auf brennbare Stoffe abgegebene Wärmemenge pro Zeiteinheit spielt bei der Brandentstehung und späteren Brandursachenermittlung eine wichtige Rolle.
Wärme kann durch Wärmestrahlung, Wärmeleitung oder Wärmeströmung an die Umgebung abgegeben werden.
